Hexagonal Memory Gel®

All Cestus anti-vibration gloves feature our proprietary Hexagonal Memory Gel® for vibration absorption from tools and equipment. In each glove, the material is strategically placed in areas that come in contact with tools when being held. In addition to the palm, many gloves contain vibration absorption that extends around the forefinger, saddle, and thumb. 

Silicone Surface

Most Cestus anti-vibration gloves also include a silicone palm grip surface. When silicone is added on top of anti-vibration pods, it creates a tacky, rubber-like surface that provides strong grip control and dexterity. 

Breathable Materials

Cestus makes hand protection you’ll actually want to wear. Our gloves offer breathability and ventilation with materials like terry cloth, which absorbs sweat from your hand or brow, and neoprene, which prevents bacterial growth and adds wind, water, and sun resistance to increase durability.

Most hand injuries occur at the end of shifts, when fatigue is most likely to set in. At Cestus Armored Gloves, we take the fatigue factor seriously and manufacture anti-vibration gloves that support safe, healthy hand positioning all day, both at rest and while holding tools. This attention to detail increases productivity as well as reduces injuries. Ergonomically curved fingers reduce strain and discomfort. Properly fitting cuffs create a snug, comfortable fit and keep debris out while you work. Some of our gloves achieve this with elastic, while others feature an adjustable wrist strap.

1. What are anti-vibration gloves and how do they work?

Anti-vibration gloves contain materials that absorb and dampen the vibrations from tools and heavy machinery. At Cestus, it’s the Hexagonal Memory Gel® in our gloves that gives them their anti-vibration properties.

2. Why wear anti-vibration gloves?

There are two main reasons to choose hand protection that provides vibration protection.

  • Prevent acute injuries. Vibrating tools cause hand fatigue. Hand fatigue makes your hands less efficient and weakens your grip. This is when costly, painful injuries are most likely to happen, including cuts, lacerations, and impact injuries.
  • Prevent chronic injuries. Prolonged use of vibrating tools puts you at risk for permanent and potentially career-ending injuries. Anti-vibration gloves are a long-term health investment. 

3. How can anti-vibration gloves prevent injuries like hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS)?

The way to lower your risk of developing HAVS is to decrease your exposure to hand-arm vibration. Anti-vibration gloves do this by absorbing vibrations from tools before they reach your hands. Anti-vibration gloves are most effective when employed as part of a comprehensive approach that includes the following:

  • Don’t grip vibrating tools too tightly (let the machine do the work).
  • Keep vibrating tools in good condition.
  • Take a 10 minute break every hour (OSHA).
  • Don’t smoke.
  • Keep your hands warm and dry (your gloves will help).

Choose your anti-vibration gloves wisely. The requirements of the vibration standard are strict, and it’s very difficult to manufacture a comfortable glove that meets them. Our company motto of “Work in Comfort” was tested to its limit by the standard’s requirement of anti-vibration material in the saddle of the glove. Our team successfully overcame this design obstacle, but not every manufacturer can.
